The demand for global connectivity continues to rise, with content growth being a major catalyst for increasing bandwidth demand. India is at the forefront of the growing need for data, which is being driven by increasing smartphone penetration and the vast deployment of 4G, and now 5G networks. India is among the top three global economies terms of digital consumers – with over 816 million internet subscribers in 2022, India is the second largest internet subscriptions market in the world. This growing pattern of data consumption is expected to continue over the next decade and will require the necessary infrastructure to support this growth.

India is among the top three global economies terms of of digital consumers – with over 630 million internet subscribers in 2019, India is the second largest internet subscriptions market in the world. This growing pattern of data consumption is expected to continue over the next decade and requires the necessary infrastructure to support this growth.

Whilst consumer data tariffs within India are amongst the lowest in the world, international capacity continues to rank amongst the most expensive in the world.
